when you're a kid, they dont tell you about the choices
decisions made in the darkest corners
and tears that shake your soul but never fall
they dont tell you that life isnt always the answer
you're encouraged in kindergarten to create ...anything ...everything
they tell you that you to stand up for right in middle school
and in high school they tell you to grow... to never stop evolving
but they never ever tell you about the choices
you're not informed of the dark moments
the things that will haunt you later but you must live in the now !
the future is here and tomorrow is just a yesterday that hasnt arrived yet
and you're ill prepared
in this room , on this table , alone
THEY DIDNT TELL YOU !
and all you can think about is the color of your nails or hers or his
and then you forget ....counting to 100 just to occupy thoughts in your head
and you hear the wispers just outside the door
"but today is wednesday and thursday is tomorrow and then there is friday..."
and just when you thought you could make this choice there's a voice asking if you're sure
and all this shit is getting too tough!
SO WHY DIDNT THEY TELL YOU?
"im sure"
and then of the creating all of the rights and growth will stop along with time in that moment.
head slowly turning to the wall ... and you can feel the separation coming
and you think " 1...2...3...." but what comes after 3
so breaths come next but you've forgotten how to do that ....
you've forgotten because you can feel the life inside you screaming to hang on....crying to exist ...
and that's when the tears fall....life isn't always the choice
& in that moment you realize why they didnt tell you
